The Charlotte Area Check-IT-Out conference will be held at JAARS in Waxhaw, North Carolina on March 20-21, 2009.This is a great opportunity for you and your spouse to see in action a mission organization that supports overseas work! JAARS is the hub of technical support services for Bible translation around the world. There will be a live tour of our Information Technology Services and plenty of time to talk, ask questions and network throughout the conference with each other and a number of IT missionaries. Learn how IT is used in mission through Bible stories. Please note our special pre-conference and post-conference opportunities that include visiting the Billy Graham Library, touring JAARS and even receive free Linux training.

Meals

The conference fee covers Friday breakfast, lunch and dinner; Saturday breakfast, and lunch as well as snack times.

For those staying in Center Housing, the makings for one breakfast are available (You might save that for Sunday morning). The nearest restaurants and grocery stores are 15 minutes away in Waxhaw or 20 minutes away in Lancaster, SC.

Airport Shuttle

NOTE for Airport Shuttle:
On the Registration Form check that you want the airport shuttle and PLEASE provide your full flight itinerary in an email to registrar@checkitout.org You will be sent airport shuttle contact details. Payment for the shuttle will be collected at the conference. You may pay by cash, check or credit card.

Cars may be rented at the airport. You should plan for about a one hour drive to JAARS depending upon Charlotte traffic conditions.

Conference Housing

Center housing is available at a cost of $32.00 a night (subject to change) for one person or $16.00 per person (subject to change) if sharing a unit (subject to availability plus 6.75% NC tax). We encourage you to share a unit if traveling by yourself. If there is a specific person you want to room with please indicate that on the registration form.

Off-Site Accomodations
For those wishing to stay off site in a hotel, the nearest facilities are in Lancaster, SC (about 20 minutes) or in the Ballantyne area of south Charlotte (about 30 minutes away).
