Alistair Imrie Alistair and his wife, Susanna, are from England. Alistair joined Wycliffe in 2000, having previously worked as a software developer for specialized CAD systems. He has also developed software for instruments used in nuclear fuel reprocessing. Alistair has spent his entire Wycliffe career so far serving in Dallas, Texas, as part of the Language Software Development team. They are developing software tools to assist Bible translators in many aspects of their work, from initial attempts to understand a new language and culture, right through to preparing a finished Bible translation for typesetting. The software that has most impressed him in recent times is Microsofts Flight Simulator. (He used to fly a small plane in the UK as a hobby.) A close second is Skype, which enables him to talk with his family in England for free. His favorite food is Marmite (www.marmite.co.uk), which friends send him from time to time. Since 2002, he has only had to manage without it for three days. |
