JAARS WordApp 2012

Bible translation

Mobile App Competition!

Help release the power of app computing into the global Bible translation movement.

Teams of one to four college students aged 18–25 will compete to create mobile apps based on emerging software for language development and Bible translation.

Undergraduates with solid coding experience are eligible.

The team chooses one of three application needs to develop in Android or IOS. Competitors are responsible for bringing their own programming hardware and software.

While you're at the JAARS Center, you'll also get a first-hand look at technology in missions. A tour of Global Technology and Information Services, and Language Technology Development will be offered, as well as helicopter rides with a jungle pilot.

Tell others who might be interested! Come as a team or by yourself; you may be able to join or create a team when you arrive.

Led by a team from SIL International Language Technology Development, JAARS WordApp 2012 will be held at the JAARS Center, the hub of SIL International technical and logistic support services for Bible translation around the world.
