Check-IT-Out Spring 2017

Enjoy the start of spring in the Carolinas!

Come discover how technology—from satellite systems to smart phone apps—makes Bible translation possible in the most remote and difficult places in the world.

Hear stories, see software demonstrations, learn about family life on the field, and much more. Don’t miss out on this inspiring time as you see how God uses technology for His purposes.

If you are married, bring your spouse along, too. They will be glad they came! They might especially enjoy our pre-conference events, which include the Billy Graham Library, the Museum of the Alphabet, the Mexico-Cardenas Museum, a delicious dinner out, and an Ice Cream Social.

Morning—Museum of the Alphabet, Mexico-Cárdenas Museum

Our museums take a close look at the heart of our work—language, culture, and Bible translation. Come trace the history of writing. Or study a Mexican president who deeply valued minority languages.

AfternoonBilly Graham Library

We will depart via vans for Charlotte where we will tour the Billy Graham Library, which is a fascinating, inspiring multi-media, multi-room story of his life, as well as a bookstore and café. On the grounds we will also visit his childhood home and the burial site of Ruth Graham.

DinnerA restaurant

We will stop on the way back at a restaurant.

Evening Fellowship—Ice Cream Social

We will enjoy an ice cream social for all attendees who have arrived are welcome to attend.

JAARS Center Tour
Come early for this tour (9:30 a.m. to 12 noon) which provides an overview of JAARS. As you walk around the campus you will learn about the work of IT, maritime, land transportation, aviation, and facilities maintenance.

Your last stop will be a media services presentation where you may be able to dub your voice into the JESUS film. The tour ends just in time for you to have lunch on your own in the Townsend dining room.

Pre-conference Cost—Price includes Friday breakfast, transportation and Thursday’s activities, dinner at a restaurant, and the ice cream social. The Billy Graham Library and the JAARS Center tour are free. You’ll just need to cover lunch at the Billy Graham Library café.

If you can’t make it for the whole pre-conference, you can also sign up for just the Friday morning tour, and you can sign up for Friday breakfast separately.
